9-3-77 - Englishtown, fantastic jams throughout its not just a solo effort from Garcia

6-17-75 - probably the longest, and most mellow Peggy O youll ever hear, but Jerry plays 3 breathtaking solos. His tone and the band sound excellent.

10-31-83 - I just happen to love this one because at the climax of the jam Jerry lays down some of the most beautiful lines, plus I love his singing "what would your mama think?!"

9-8-93 - yeah its a later one but dont overlook it, Jerry has the sweetest tone going on in this one. Definitely a unique sounding Peggy O

12-28-91 Oakland Coliseum

VERY loud Phil doing pretty much a duet with Jerry throughout the solo break.

Go listen to it now, thank me later.

5-5-77 is good, but to me a little overrated. Much overlooked, and in my opinion the best, is 7-1-80. I also enjoy 6-7-77 (except for the cut).

One thing that gets 5/5/77 so much attention is that the "If ever I return..." verse is sung *before* the instrumental break, rather than after.

This happened on a few other occasions, 3/17/91 being one of them. It's a shame this wasn't the customary arrangement, 'cause the song has more emotional impact when the instrumental break essentially covers the time from William sailing off to war through Peggy hearing the bad news.

wish more had been like Englishtown 77 with the two jam/solos - that is the real ultimate version that just sends me everytime i listen to it.
